Hello I’m Noah Blake, “The audition Doctor” First off  let me say thanks for visiting Theauditiondoc.com

I am and have been a working actor for over 20 years and have over 200 credits in theatre television and film.  I have worked with Emmy and Academy Award winning actors.  For over 5 years I taught my own ongoing acting classes and have been doing private coaching for over 10.   In the past I was fortunate enough to study with some of the Truly legendary teachers of our time such as, Stella Adler, Jeff Corry, Tracy Roberts, Janet Alhante and  Larry Moss.

I work with anyone from absolute beginners to seasoned professionals.
From ages 6 on up.

I am frequently asked what my “method” is and to borrow a phrase from martial arts legend Bruce Lee, I like the idea of using “No way as way” Which is to say that I don’t believe in trying to make the actor fit into any one dogmatic system.  There are certain basic principles of acting but they are principles and not “laws” to be strictly adhered to.  What might work well for one actor might not quite fit for another.  Over my years of working with hundreds of actors I have developed a wide range of skills and techniques to address virtually any issue that an actor may be challenged by.

One of my very first Teachers, Al Ruscio used to say, “ A plumber doesn’t drive his truck into your living room and dump all his tools on the floor!  He parks outside, goes inside, diagnoses the situation, returns to the truck to get the proper tool, then goes in and fixes the problem.” I think this a great metaphor not only for acting coaching but in life as well.

I look at every actor as a unique individual and consider it a great honor and privilege to be trusted to develop and reveal their talent.  I say, “reveal” because no teacher, no matter what they might say can make you “more talented.”  Talent is something that each of us is born with.  Call it a God given gift.  My goal as a coach and teacher is to develop in the individual the understanding of that talent and to equip them with the techniques and tools to reveal and nurture it to it’s maximum potential.

Just like a boxing trainer (or coach), an acting coach can provide a seasoned objective insight into the development of the individual artist.  As any athlete knows, a great coach can be the difference between being just another player and being a champion!

Whether it’s breaking down a scene or script for a job, audition or showcase, developing a character, coming up with dynamic choices, working on a dialect, drama or comedy, or career consultation when tough decisions arise, I am happy to offer my services to you.
